In September we were told that our Dossier would stay with the International Department of Adoptions in Vietnam. Since then the US Embassy has asked that all American dossiers be sent back to the adoptions agencies. Therefore taking us off the log-in list and possibly having to re-do ALL of our dossier :( We knew that we would have to re-do some of our documents but not all of it. This could mean that when Vietnam does open to American Adoptions we would have to quickly re-do our dossier, have it translated again, and then be logged-in which could change our number. The Good News is that it is all okay. God is still in control and things will work out for the good.
Those families with dossier held at the chief of police in Bac Lieu are still there. FTIA has tried to meet with him but no luck. Vietnam IAD and officials are trying to work with FTIA to bring this problem to a close but it is going very slowly. Please pray for those families as some have been waiting since January!
Also keep in your hearts and prayers for a friend of mine, Jan and her family. They are adopting a 3 1/2 year old from Vietnam. They found out from the US CIS that their case has been put on hold as the Vietnam official investigate a guard from that orphanage that was arrested in April for "buying" a child. As a guard he would be the one to sign on the abandoned children's paperwork, therefore, he signed off on this little girls paperwork. Vietnam is trying to figured out if that was his only "buying" a child or if there are more. There are 8 families from American that have been affected by this, including Jan. Please pray for her and this precious little girl as this is a very difficult WAITING period. Also pray that someone will be able to tell this little girl that her family is coming as she has been given pictures of her new family and might be confused as each day passes and her family is not there to get her.
Also pray for ALL the children left in the orphanages that they stay healthy and that Vietnam will open soon so that these children can have forever families.
Love to all, Hess

it was good to hear an adoption update, although the situation is obviously frustrating and disappointing. it's cool to see how you are believing god is who he says he is in the midst of all this. we love your family!
